I Don't Think Dempsey Would Wear a Tom Ford Suit.

Fit this guy. Better not get too close.

That's Dempsey. He trained and fought to really hurt you.

At 75 years old Dempsey was leaving a Muhammad Ali bout at Madison Sq and two thugs decided to mug the grey old man. He knocked them both out and held them for cops.

He started fighting in the coal mines in Montana at a young age. He fought to survive. ( look at that collar )

A bad ass from the mines.

A bad ass from the mines.

That's where he got those forearms. He weighed 180lbs. His hands and forearms look like someone sewed on Lou Ferrignos.

What a nice guy. And he was. A true gentleman.

 A sweet boyish smile.

A sweet boyish smile.

But do not cross him.

He will kill you. He killed men in the wild western towns where he worked as a bouncer in a whore house. His first wife was a whore.

He did not fight to win the fight. He fought to hurt and destroy. he had muscles from hard work and a primordial sense of survival. Iron hard muscle fiber . Not from weights or gym work. He had strength piled on muscles from long hard hours doing strenuous work. Work where all the muscles are synchronized to work hard.

He destroyed 6'6" 265lb Jess Willard in 1919 to win the title.

He was a brutal , deadly gentleman. That's what it took to continue living back then.

His bobbing and weaving style "The Dempsey Roll" made him very hard to hit as he circled in closer and closer to kill you.

A man of rock and iron from a time gone by. I don't think he'd wear a Tom Ford suit.
